Baby Shower
Last weekend was my baby shower in Coral Springs. My Mom, sisters, and BFF's Melissa and Jyll planned a great party! The shower was at Melissa's beautiful house. I wish I had more pictures of all the details. The decorations outside were one of my favorite parts, which included a clothesline of baby items hanging by the pool and were also part of my gift from Jyll and Meliss. So cute!! I got a TON of gifts and everyone was so generous and excited to shower our new baby with presents. The car was PACKED to the max for the ride back to Gainesville. Thanks everyone!
Here are just a few pics from the day:

Maternity Photo Shoot
Here are the pictures from the photo shoot we did the day after the baby shower. Jeremy, Candace, and I went to Kris' house and used the beautiful scenery of her backyard to take some fun pictures to announce Baby Thoms' name! Candace did a great job as an amateur photographer!
We decided on the name Jack because we both liked it. It's also a nickname for John, which is my Grandpa's first name. Then, since he was going to have the same first and last initals as his daddy, we decided to go with "R" for the middle initial, and decided on Robert for the middle name, since Robert is Jeremy's middle name, as well as his Grandfather's first name. So there's a little bit of tradition all wrapped up in Jack's full name.
Enjoy the pics!
Here it is officially: Jack Robert Thoms!

Stage 2: paint!
Jeremy spent the weekend painting the bottom half of the baby's room dark blue ("cobalt glaze"). It's not a very good picture, but you can definitely tell it's darker than the periwinkle color from before. It took 4-5 coats! What a hard working daddy! We also felt one of Baby's hardest kicks yet this week! Way to go little guy!
Here I am at 25 weeks....the belly is growing!
I also started taking a prenatal yoga class at the Women's Center gym this week. Here's the "tree pose" I learned that night. I'm also starting to go to an aquatic class at the main gym pool called "Mother's in Motion". Here'a a pic of my new maternity swimsuit (from the website, not gonna post a pic of me in it!)
We also just ordered this glider/ottoman for the room. We're gonna have a comfy place for all those late-night feedings! :)

Getting Baby's Room Ready!
So we've started stage 1 of getting the baby's room ready...
We, meaning Jeremy, took the twin bed out of the baby's room and moved it into the office and we got a new (smaller) desk in the office. Then Jeremy put together the crib (thank you Linda!) and the dresser. I ordered a blanket from the bedding collection that we registered for so that I could picture it in the room.
Here are a few pictures so far...

Up Next, Stage 2: We're going to paint the bottom half of the room dark blue, so it will look like water and sky to go with the turtle theme.
Here's a picture of the Turtle Reef bedroom stuff that we want in the room...so cute!!

New Year's Eve
We celebrated with friends at dinner at The Great Outdoors Restaurant.
I spent New Year's Day relaxing, reading a book, and updating our baby registries online. Jeremy had friends over to watch football all day. Pretty perfect start to the new year!
We are registered at:

Christmas!
Christmas 2010
21 weeks pregnant...not the most flattering pictures, but the clothing options are getting to be small! I'm not quite fitting into maternity jeans and my old jeans are a bit snug. I have been using a belly band (which I love) to keep wearing my old jeans up to this point.
We got lots of fun baby stuff during the holidays! Jeremy's mom got the baby cute Carter's onesies and booties when we were shopping in Naples. "Aunts" Melissa, Jyll, and Morgan went crazy at Baby Gap and got our little guy 4 bodysuit shirts and his first pair of jeans! They're soooo tiny and adorable! Aunt Robyn got him a little doggie hooded bath towel.
For Christmas, we got some cute little sneaker-socks from Aunt Candace, an I <3 NY onesie from Great Aunt Patti, and Florida Gator onesies and a Bebe Pod seat from Aunt Jacqui! We have such a lucky, loved little boy!
